ArchiCAD exports the open IFC format, and Wizarch reads it directly. Upload the IFC file you export from ArchiCAD and Wizarch renders it as an interactive 3D building model in the browser — orbit it, walk it floor by floor, and switch a storey into a projected plan view. It is an online IFC viewer built to fit the ArchiCAD workflow.

ArchiCAD → IFC → Wizarch workflow

1. In ArchiCAD, export your model to IFC using a suitable IFC translator (File → Save As → IFC).
2. Create a project in Wizarch and pick its client URL, like /your-studio/project/.
3. Upload the IFC file. Wizarch converts it to lightweight Fragments for fast in-browser loading.
4. Send the link. Your client opens an interactive 3D building model in any browser.

Client delivery without ArchiCAD

Your client does not run ArchiCAD, and with Wizarch they do not need to. The model becomes one web link that opens the 3D building in any browser, including on mobile, so your client explores what you are designing instead of imagining it from a flat render. Links stay unlisted by default, and you can lock any project behind a client password. Here is how to share a BIM model with a client.

ArchiCAD IFC export tips

The quality of what you see in the viewer is decided at export time. A few settings make the biggest difference when exporting IFC from ArchiCAD:

1. Use a proper IFC translator. Pick or define an export translator under File → Interoperability → IFC → IFC Translators rather than relying on a raw default. Match the translator to who receives the file (general coordination vs. a specific consumer).
2. Map stories cleanly to IfcBuildingStorey. Well-defined ArchiCAD stories export as proper IFC building storeys, which is what powers Wizarch's floor-by-floor filtering and plan view.
3. Set surface and material export deliberately. Whether colors and materials carry into the browser depends on the translator's geometry/material options. Enable surface/material export if you want the model to keep its colors.
4. Include the property sets you need. IFC property mapping controls which metadata travels with the model. Exclude property sets and that metadata is gone; include the ones you actually rely on.
5. Filter elements and level of detail. Export the element types you need at a sensible level of detail. Leaner files convert and load faster (Wizarch turns IFC into Fragments for speed).
6. Choose the right model view definition. Coordination View 2.0 suits most coordination and viewing use cases; Reference View is geometry-focused. Pick the one that matches the job.
7. On ArchiCAD 28 or 29, you can skip IFC entirely. The free Fragments Exporter add-on (by Bimdots) exports Fragments (.frag) directly from ArchiCAD. That is ideal for Wizarch: a direct .frag upload skips the IFC conversion step, so the model loads even faster and you avoid IFC export settings altogether.

A note on fidelity: Wizarch shows exactly what is in your IFC file. How floors, colors, metadata, and materials appear depends on your ArchiCAD IFC translator and export settings — there is no guarantee of perfect, one-to-one fidelity with the ArchiCAD model.
