Client delivery without Revit
Your client does not run Revit, and with Wizarch they do not need to. The model becomes one web link that opens the 3D building in any browser, including on mobile, so your client explores what you are designing instead of imagining it from a flat render. Revit IFC export tips
The quality of what you see in the viewer is decided at export time. A few settings make the biggest difference when exporting IFC from Revit:
- Pick the right IFC export setup. Revit ships with several export setups (IFC 2x3 Coordination View, IFC4 Reference View, and others) under File → Export → IFC → Modify setup. Choose or duplicate one that matches who receives the file rather than exporting with whatever was last used.
- Check your level / storey structure. Revit levels export as IFC building storeys, which is what powers Wizarch's floor-by-floor filtering and plan view. Make sure the levels you care about are set to be building storeys so each floor comes through cleanly.
- Map categories to the right IFC classes. The IFC class mapping (IfcExportAs) decides how Revit categories become IFC elements. A sensible mapping keeps walls, doors, windows and furniture as the elements a viewer expects, instead of generic proxies.
- Include the property sets you need. Enable the property sets and base quantities you actually rely on in the export setup. Leave them off and that metadata never reaches the model; turn them on and it travels with it.
- Export the right scope. Use a clean 3D view (or a filtered view) as the export basis so you send the element types you want at a sensible level of detail. Leaner files convert and load faster (Wizarch turns IFC into Fragments for speed).
A note on fidelity: Wizarch shows exactly what is in your IFC file. How floors, colors, metadata, and materials appear depends on your Revit IFC export setup — there is no guarantee of perfect, one-to-one fidelity with the Revit model.
